We’re excited to announce our first CMO Club Innovation Forum in Los Angeles on April 20, 2022.
Please join us for a half-day of CMO-level content focused on the next evolution in digital transformation, Web3. Forum attendees will dive into all aspects of Web3 including the metaverse and NFTs, as well as enabling technologies like cryptocurrency and blockchain.
Web3 is a new frontier, especially for marketers. It offers amazing potential, opportunities for new business models, and new ways to build long-term relationships with customers. But understanding the intersection of the metaverse, blockchain, cryptocurrency, and NFTs poses a challenge for marketers moving at a rapid pace. The CMO Club Innovation Forum aims to make sense of it all, giving participants the knowledge and perspective to ensure that Web3 is positioned and deployed correctly within their organizations.
In addition to a powerful agenda packed with world-class sessions and speakers, the Innovation Forum will conclude with a cocktail and networking reception.

1:15 p.m. - The ABCs and 123s of Web3 - A Primer on Web3 Terms, Concepts, and Technologies
We begin with a solid grounding in Web3 fundamentals. Mat Sweezey, founder of the Web3 Studio at Salesforce will lay out the core technologies and concepts underpinning Web3 and the evolution from Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 — providing knowledge and context to clearly see the opportunity ahead.
2:00 p.m. - The Business Case for Web3
Web3 has the potential for profound change, but what is the business case for Web3—why should marketers care—and what is the real opportunity today, and in the future? This session will explore Web3 from the CMO perspective, including brand activation, reaching new consumers, improving customer LTV, and the emergence of new revenue streams anchored by Web3.

2:50 p.m. - Crawl, Walk, Run - Where Does a CMO Start? (Small group workshops)
How do CMOs get started with Web3? In this workshop session, attendees will roll up their sleeves and break into small groups to get a practical understanding of where to start. Web3 experts will work with each group to help attendees address their challenges and give practical advice for next steps.
3:30 p.m. - Community and the Promise and Potential for Web3
With community at the heart of all marketing, what is the promise and potential of Web 3 for the communities we serve as marketers? This session will explore what we’ve learned from Web 2.0, how Web3 can be a force for good, and the potential of Web3 to bring positive change around privacy, trust, and inclusion.

Baratunde Thurston holds space for hard and complex conversations with his blend of humor, wisdom, and compassion. Baratunde is an Emmy-nominated host who has worked for The Onion, produced for The Daily Show, advised the Obama White House, and wrote the New York Times bestseller How To Be Black. He’s the creator and host of How To Citizen with Baratunde which Apple named one of its favorite podcasts of 2020 and for which he received the Social Impact Award at the 2021 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. He’s also a founding partner of the new media startup Puck and is host of the forthcoming America Outdoors with Baratunde Thurston airing on PBS starting July 5th, 2022. In 2019, he delivered what MSNBC’s Brian Williams called “one of the greatest TED talks of all time.” Baratunde is unique in his ability to integrate and synthesize themes of race, culture, politics, and technology to explain where our nation is and where we can take it.
Baratunde serves on the boards of BUILD.org and the Brooklyn Public Library and lives in Los Angeles, California.
